I have a 638 I carry on occasion...would've preferred the 642 (mine has the concealed hammer rather than bobbed), but it was "payment" for work I did for a brother...I'm not a fan of their pistols, but their revolvers are top notch.
have an old 66 that i take to the range, it's a dream to shoot with the 6" barrel (has a 2, 4, & 6 to swap out)

Ha well it's obvious that not only is this thread old but it's still alive.
With the rare exceptions of when I go into a place for work where weapons of any kind are not allowed (courthouses, prisons, schools, etc.) I am never more than arm's reach from a loaded firearm. Even then since I have my tools, I'm never really unarmed.
I always carry a Ruger LCP .380 however, if weather allows me to wear a coat I'll put either a Ruger GP100 .357, a SW40VE or a SAXD40 in a shoulder holster.
While none of my "hunting firearms" are loaded there are 4 Maverick model 88 12 GA shot guns with 18 1/2" barrels loaded with 00 buck scattered around the house.
So yes I carry when I ride, and these days I don't go into States (or Districts) where I cannot carry. The last time was 5 years back when the wife and I took a trip to DC, she wanted to go through the holocaust museum and I had to mail even my little pocket knife home they wouldn't let me in with it.
I always found that ironic, I had to completely disarm myself to tour a museum on what happens when a Government goes ape shit on a passive unarmed society.

Probably my favorite round...close in performance to a 125 gr .357 Magnum, but with high capacities in our semiautos.
