2010 Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide Review
Despite a slumping market, The Motor Company introduced four new/revised models for 2010 this week.
Unveiled to the press in Denver, Colorado, we saw the return of the Wide Glide to the Dyna family and a slick update to the Softail Fat Boy, the Fat Boy Lo.
Also new is a tasty Road Glide Custom bagger and an even more luxurious tourer, the Electra Glide Ultra Limited. We'll discuss the latter two in an upcoming article, concentrating here on the new Dyna and Softail cruisers.
The Dyna series is the least expensive way to get into a Big Twin Harley, starting at just $11,999 for the Super Glide model. Moving up in price is the Street Bob and the Super Glide Custom, followed by this new Wide Glide at a base price of $14,499. Dynas are easily recognizable by their exposed dual rear shocks and underseat battery box.

Sat on one this morning at the dealership in Roanoke, VA before returning home. Sure feels like it sits more than an inch lower than my FXD. At 6'5", I love the forward controls - had them put on the FXD before I took it home - also had the pillion pad, pegs and a detachable backrest put on. The passenger seat on mine looks a good bit more substantial. The sissy bar on the WG might keep my kid or my wife from being blown off the back of the bike. On the other hand, it might only be a speed bump...
All that said - I liked the bike. They had a black and a sunglo and I'm partial to vivid black (my bike's color), but the sunglo looks good. The side mount license plate and the taillight treatment are cool, too.

I have to say that I never did like the pics, but after seeing a couple in dealerships while roadtrippin', kinda changed my mind. There is more to like than dislike, IMO, and with a little tweakin could be a real sweet ride.

Since I currently ride an XL883 Low, this would be a huge step up. Sat on one last night and I've gotta say that I personally like the bars. I'm too new to cruisers to know enough to be critical, though.

It's growing on me. Definitely better in the living steel than in pictures.
