Went to the deal today, all the 1125R bikes were knocked down 5K.. Dealer said the factory is giving them the 5K for all the new Buell bikes on the floor. Wish I had the cash.
7,200 out the door.

I think Jimmy is right. I see a lot of younger guys and gals driving $35000 SUVs and Suburbans that cost more. Some are driving Cadillac Escalades for a lot more money than I would care to spend on a vehicle.
So what does it mean "get a bike for the younger set"? Really, I'm 69 years and have been riding Harleys since I bought a new 1971 Sportster. I now have a 2008 Ultra Classic. What defines a "bike for the younger set"? I can't believe crotch rockets are only for under 40, or you have to have your AARP card to get an Electra-glide.
Today's younger people are making a hell of a lot higher wage than I did at their age. Unfortunately, Obama and crew have them sending a lot more of it in so they can spend it.
I really liked that 71 Sporty and the 73 Superglide that replaced it, and the 07 Superglide that replaced that and now the 08 Ultra. I have removed the heavy tourpak (33 pounds empty) and added a trailer hitch to haul the weight around. Also added a reverse gear to help the knees backing up the 830 pound bike, but, I love the windshield and all the electronic gear aboard it.
Sorry about the long post, just felt I had to expound on why some feel H-Ds are for "old people" only.

This is true but you still aint got a Harley.
Thats like pickin up puzzy at Walmart (pic on left) Or pickin up some at upscale night club (pic on right) both got puzzys, both of em got one but the upscale cost more and you can eat it. So with a Harley you can have your cake and eat it to.

Harleys have been a family tradition for generations. My dad is 77 and still rides.

The 1983 FL that I bought new and still own was bought the month and year my son was born. Fast forward to today, despite the family tradition he don't care. He wants a jap crap sport bike.

Pop on his softail:

In no order,me,pop, brother, son inlaw, grandson and family friend:

I think the majority but not all of todays younger generation are confused. Wouldn't know quality, tradition or time honored values if it bit them in the arse. Look how many try to act like they perceive black gang bangers to be...with their pants slung low and talking diffferent then how they were raised etc...

Harleys have always meant more to me personally then "just a motorcycle".
