That is awesome for a 15 year old to write!

Up until recently our school system was segregated according to religious background...thats over now...and its apparent in the children, not a good thing because a lot of them seem to have no morals or values at all. There is much more fighting and gang behaviour. Absolutely no respect for elders...

We all don't have perfect parents...I know I sure didn't! The only learning I did was at school. When I started kindergarten I was way behind all the other kids because I hadn't been taught anything at home like the rest. I was put in Special Ed...but that didn't last for long. My teachers prepared me well and I went on to graduate University.

I would not have know anything about religion either if not for school. We all don't live in a perfect world! And sure enough a lot of teachers make a big difference in children's lives. Sometimes a child listens to a teacher where they may not listen to a parent.

Oh well enough rambling....

Oh yes...and if everything of a religious or sexual nature must be taught at home by the parents...where does that leave the children who are living in institutions, foster homes, hospitals for sick children, orphanages etc...

nope... You MUST learn in school about native (Indian religion.. you may also learn about islam ect ect ect...) if the islam kids r not allowed to do their prayers, there is a whole uproar about it... The ONLY thing is GOD and Jesus that has been scrapped... every other religion is fine.. AND also the Jewish faith is denied.. but thats GOD as well...

hey hot pink.. were i live.. there has been NO religion in schools for a long time.. however god was allowed to be there for a while..there was christian prayer .. and things that pertained to god.. and i dont think that is fair to those that dont believe in god.. or people that pray to a different one other than the christian one.. i think its time to either have a religion class that teaches about ALL religions .. or no religion at all in school...that is what i think is fair..


as far as sex education.. i dont see a problem with having that at school but good luck getting that passed ..what i dont think schools should do is hand out birth control with out an accompanying class..

Yep, when they took prayer out of schools, it got replaced with guns and knives, dare we remember Colombine, or any of the other schools who have these memories to look forward to.

remember when the biggest worry a kid had in school was a pimple on his face b4 a school dance, or hoping to pass an exam to be able to stay on the football team?
