Looking for help in deciding which bike I want
I am new to riding, well I rode Japanese bikes more than 20 years ago, so I (and most of you) would consider me as "new" also. Anyway, I have never lost my interest in riding and just renewed my motorcycle drivers license and ready to get back in the saddle. If I were 20 years younger and single, I'd be looking at the V-Rod Muscle but these days, my wife may want to go on a few rides out on country roads or some rallies and my kids may occassionally want to go on short rides. Guess what I'm asking is what type of bike would be best suited for me? I want comfort and some convenience but not necessarily a fully loaded touring bike. What I'm leaning towards is the Fat Boy, seems you can put some bags and windshield, I just don't know about the comfort. Also interested in purchasing a used bike with low miles. I've seen some with less than 5k miles and some a few years old, which are probably just as good as a brand new bike but at much lower price. Any insight would be appreciated. Have the recent changes in some bikes made them better (such as bigger engine on some bikes from 06 to 07), other changes that I'm not familiar with?
Thanks and hope to see you out on the road soon.

Welcome to the forum, the best way is to test ride different bikes at a harley dealer to figure out which one fits you best

grow into a bike, not out of one. weigh ALL your options. remember there is something going on with harley/hog every day of the year. my buddy bought an entry level bike to see if he was going to like it, thru on a few accy's, which many times arent cheap, got big bucks invested in a short time,,,,, decided he was in it for the long haul, but didnt count on the wife liking it, well she did, long story short, they are way too big for two up riding, forget any kind of distace rides and no place to put any of their stuff if we tour or hit sturgis, or daytona, or rolling thunder, you get the idea. good luck with your purchase.

Go with the Electra Glide Classic, ride good by yourself and two up you can drop alot of the extras with quick connects if you want. I went to the flhtci right from a rigid frame with a 96' evo and after 2 years sold the chopper because it was sitting to much and I was made an offer I could not turn down. That's what I think.

I have to agree that a bagger is the best option for 2 up riding. I love my RK whether i'm alone or with the wife and the 96ci has plenty of power to boot!!!! But in all honesty i'd take a day with the wife and go test ride!!! Thats the only way you'll know the comfort and ride of any HD. Good luck in your search and lookin forward to hear what ya deceided on!!!! And welcome to the forum from PA!!!!
