Hi from NC, big town of Hickory

Hi all, sorry about not posting this sooner, wasn't using my head. Been reading a lot of the threads and getting good ideas, also tried to offer some suggestions, not new to riding but I am new to the world of Harley's. I had been riding a wing up until about 2 years ago, ran across the deal of the century on an 05' road glide, with a matching motorvation trailer and here I am. I have posted a few pics on some other threads but here is one of the bike and trailer. It came with a lot of neat accessories, like XM radio, radar detector, Garmin nav, all of which are HD road trek. It has the optional chopped tour pak, drivers backrest, and had even been outfitted with the screaming eagle 6 speed tranny, I am loving it. just want to say hi to all and thanks for a great avenue to the world of harley davidson, take care all and I look forward to any and all suggestions or comments, quikcarl61.

I'm a bit south of you in Denver, on Lake Norman. If you are looking for a good local bike shop, Open Road Cycles in Denver is top notch. They sponsor a riding group.

That is a nice looking rig.

Open Road Cycles is located at the intersection of HWy 16 and Mundy Road in Denver. If you join the riders group, you get a 10% discount at the shop. Tell Leo and AJ that I sent you. They do good work at reasonable prices and their electrical work is first rate, which is not usually the case at most bike shops.

Traffic between Hickory and Denver is usually pretty light. That is why I do more shopping in Hickory than in either Mooresville or Huntersvile. In case you don't already know, Tilley Harley Davidson in Statesville is the preferred dealer in the area. I bought my Sportster from Blue Ridge Harley Davidson last year. Their sales folks are good, but the service guys can be a bit difficult and pricey.

When I wanted Blue Ridge to download a new map to my EFI, they refused. Instead they wanted to install race tuner and put the bike on the dyno. Cost - over $900. And that was after I had installed the Stage I intake and Screaming Eagle exhaust myself. Tilley did the remap for $140.

Blue Ridge screwed up my registration and title too, which cost me a lot of time and effort to get it squared away.

I just bought a 2009 FXD from Tilley week before last. They have an enormous inventory of accessories and parts. Their service guys are great too.

Where do you ride most of the time?

Pete

I have a group of guys from work, we try to get together and ride, 1 is from around Millers Creek and I go up there and we ride up to West Jefferson. Just starting to enjoy it and haven't gotten to ride much with my schedule and the weather. Maybe I can come down that way and we hook up and ride somewhere. Just let me know
