Welcome from Canada. I feel you on the fitting thing. I ride a 97 Road King and I'm 6'8". While my ride will never fit like a glove I have done some minor things over the years that help.

Highway pegs of course and just added a newer option from the motor company, they are extended foot pads. They move them forward a good inch and do make a difference.

Seat wise I have a Mustang Touring that is a little higher then stock and looks good, unlike the Tall Boy seat from HD.

Stock windshield I'm good. I will be changing the bars this winter, something I never did. I know many that have used the Heritage bars and seem happy. There are lots of choices just hard to try them first.
