There was also an extreme long waiting list when I tried to take it. Hence paying $300 for Riders Edge.

It's almost extortion.

Welcome Vandy. Sorry to hear about the dropped bike and hope you mend up soon. I'm just going to throw this out there so you can take it or leave it. A Road King is alot of bike to start with. If it's in your budget, I wonder if you'd be better served picking up an inexpensive used Sportster and log some seat time on that. You could ride it for six months and get some experience and then sell it for what you have into it. Of course keep the King cause you want to be there eventually. Just a thought. Mishaps and dropped bikes happen to everyone. It's just alot more tolerable on a lighter, cheaper, easier to repair bike.

Buying a cheap bike crossed my mind and might be done, road king stays. I also registered for a riders edge class, $295! Thanks guys. I wish I did that class to begin with. You learn on more powerful bikes plus you log more riding time. I paid 185 for my other class
