Just signed onto this forum today. I've belonged to car forums for years. I figured, why haven't I belonged to a mc forum, especially since tech questions need addressing every once in a while, and just shooting the breeze with fellow enthusiasts is cool too. I have a '72 Superglide that I've owned since 1982 or 83- got it as a rolling chassis and the parts in crates from a friend who needed bail money- that was many years ago and a few lifetimes also- and a '68 Electraglide that I bought from the original owner who I knew personally and I've had that bike since 2000. I like the sixties and early seventies cars and bikes since they're relatively easy to work on. I have done all the work on these bikes. The '68 and the problem I've been experiencing is what really brought me to this forum. I'm hoping I can get some ideas from the guys here.
One spark plug doesn't fire when the ignition wire is snug on the plug, but will fire when the spark is allowed to jump from the wire to the spark plug. New plugs, condenser, points. Wires are good, coil is good.
Ideas are appreciated. Looking forward to forum interaction.
