Another New Harley Rider From NJ

Greetings All !

This is a group that I never thought I would be joining but Heh...Stranger things have Happened Right? I've been riding and Racing since 1979, Just competed in my 273rd Race (Mostly Enduro's and Hare Scrambles but about 70 or so MX as well). Currently have 7 bikes, The 2009 883C being the newest. Spend most of my time on KTM's and average about 4000K Miles a year on my Dual Sport and and about 1500-2000 K on the Race and practice bikes. In September of 2007 while in Kuwait after serving in IRAQ for 7 months with our NAVY. I called the wife and said, "Honey..we should buy a HARLEY !" she first reminded me that she just ordered my New KTM and it would be in by the time I got Stateside. Then she said "Your not the Harley type...were not the Harley type." Then after convincing her that we wouldn't pick it up till spring of 2009 she relented, Just Get your Butt home and we'll discuss it later.
Well April 2009 came around and Low and Behold....The Sportster is in the Garage and The Mrs. absoulutly Loves going riding on it ! So much so that she get's upset when a few days go by without taking a ride! Well being a Dirt Bike guy I know I'm out of my league here, so hopefully I can reach out to the group when questions come up ?
Hope this covers me for an Indtroduction.

Ride Safe !

John

Welcome from Alberta, Canada. And a fine introduction it is - know exactly what you're talking about with the Harley and the wife. She never had thoughts about a motorcycle in her life and never dreamed of herself being on a Harley - well she rides a 09 1200L Harley Sportster these days and its sometimes difficult to get her back home she'd rather be riding.

Now I know it was indeed you who mentioned the Harley while serving overseas - but it does appear you need to get YOURSELF a Harley as you have apparently lost this one to your wife.
