Bald Eagles

I have been living in this part of the country for 49 yrs. minus my time in the Army and it hasn't been until the past two yrs. that I ever saw a wild Bald Eagle. My beach house is on the Sassafras River in Southern Cecil County Md. and there is a nice thriving population. Twenty miles of Back roads will take you to my property in Delaware and yesterday as I was turning down my lane on my Scoot A beautiful, Huge , Majestic Bald Eagle flew over head. I pulled over and watched it fly away. This area was pretty much the Chemical capital of the Country with plenty of PCB's and Dioxins and back when they were sending shit right to the Delaware river it took its toll on the Eagle population around here. I worked in a Chemical Plant that Chlorinated Benzene and made the base ingredient for Agent Orange during the Vietnam War. Alot of effort was made to do the right thing and we had a state of the art Waste Water Treatment area so we weren't sending the wrong shit to the river. Those efforts seem to be paying off and its great to see the national Bird soaring around here again!

They are beautiful creatures. The population of them has been building rapidly here for the past 10 years.

We have a pair that hang around our reservoir at work here at Stennis. They truely are a majestic creature. I just hope this administration we have now doesn't replace it with a buzzard.

Back home in Celina, TN we have an Eagle Watch bout this time of year up at Dale Hollow Lake. Beautiful, especially at sunrise or sunset.
