1200 engine conversion to?
Ok, so I'm not a motorhead (not yet), nor am I a seasoned biker. But I'm just like the rest of you.. I like big motors full of torque and hp and an exhaust note that makes your blood pump. I'm curious about building out a 1200 to something bigger. I know this is a very broad and opinionated topic, but a link to something for me to read would be awesome.
what is involved?
I plan on buying up to a bigger bike for long rides one of these days and my 1200 will be my project bike. I wanna make it scream! What are your thoughts and opinions?
Thanks all for the help..

Cams.....more fuel.....better ignition. You can look into a sporty big bore, but in reality, it'll work better with the first three things, anyway.

Thanks for the replies everyone..
so, I'm all about bang for the buck..
is going from 1200 to 1250 gonna tear the seat of my pants? Is it gonna growl at me when I roll hard on the throttle?
I'm not going to do this for a while, because I don't want to void my warranty, but I'm dyeing to get inside my engine and make it more better, it's just the way I work.
Basically.. is this worth it?

1200-1250 not worth it try looking into more fuel and air and heads that will give you some power , i was just messing with you about the 1250 mine was a 883 and I went to a 1250, if yours is stock I would look into air of some kind in and out some kind of ingnition then heads maybe more cpr and a cam that will give you plenty of power

well, I run with a power comander, shortshots, and K&N filter now..
so, I have done all of that. I know the shortshots are crap for power. But I realized that a little bit too late. Yay for being a newb.
I guess the only things I could add now, is maybe a 2-1 exhaust, ignition, cams and heads. NRHS sells a bolt on 1250 cylinder kit thats supposed to be the biggest you can go with the stock cases. But I'm not sold yet, for the amount of $moolah and time that i would have to put into this.
decisions decisions..
