TC 96 Stage one -
The stage one project is complete - and here are the details for those that might be interested... SE slip on mufflers $300.; SE S1 air filter $150.; Master Tune $450.; Reno HD service charge to tune on the dyno $300.; NHP charge for 83 mph in a 70 $110.. And the results - HP = 74.5; Torque = 90!!! I left the dealer and rode to Virginia City and down the six mile road. The dyna is great on these canyons with the extra torque and the new pipes, while tame at regular speed, let others know you are coming/going. So, until I can afford to join the 100 hp club, these changes will do. Ride On

Here's my run with drilled stock mufflers and the Ness big sucker with the SERT. Torque is in nM not Ft. Lbs. This was on 95 octane in Germany with about 70 degree weather. PS = HP.

I'm thinking about doing a 103" upgrade with the SE255 cams, V&H Big Radius 2 into 2 (no baffles), SE Heavy Breather intake, and HD race tuner or Master Tune.
How close to the 100hp mark do yall think I would be?

A little low but all dynos aren't the same.
My stage1 with a PC111 is 75hp/88tq which seems to be about average.
Did they tune it or just install a canned map?
BTW good tq at low rpm is what you want. What's your tq?

this what was done, Rush slip-on's 1.75 baffels, s.e. air cleaner, screamin eagle super tuner, I was charged 340.00 for 4hrs of race tune. torque went from 71.43 to 78.80, and hp was 59.58 to 68.92

When the 96" came out several mags did dynos on many models. I kept track. The average was 66hp/80tq. Makes sense to me as the increase I got with a stage 1 was a typical gain shown on 2 separate dynos.

There is no replacement for displacement. S&S rocks for big inch kits. It's all about the headwork, cam and intake balance once you have a good pipe on it! The dealer download lets you get some rpms. To go further you will need a Power Commander or similar tool to modify ignition and fuel.
