SE Twin Cam Race Clutch
I've done a search on this and have found that many don't care for the set up.....
I just had the SE race clutch installed with the SE new bigger compensator do to high torque on my 09 FLHX. The "clunk noise" is gone when starting now do to the compensator much smoother. However, my left forearm is looking like popeye's.... because the clucth pull is so heavy.
Anyone esle have this set up? and can anything be done to lighten the clucth pull? If it stays this heavy it seems to me that I will be going through clutch cables left and right...
thanks all

Yes. You can install a EZ-Clutch pull kit, changing the clutch internal leverage, but not effecting the pressure plate's effectivness at all.

I believe they're less then $25. I installed one in my neighbor's RK as well as my own bike, after he had the SE clutch kit put in his bike. It was brutal.... not it's like butta......

As a matter of fact I remember your thread Dave and just wondered if there were any more options out there?
Was there a noticable difference on your nieghbor's RK in your opinion, since he had the same kit as mine?
thanks again dave......

The clutch pull was reduced, in my opinion, by 50%.

To the best of my knowlege, that kit is a lighter pressure plate, and easier RAMPS on the pushrod actuator. The Burley EZ-pull kit uses stock ramps, but changes the leverage point of the cable pull, making it easier. With a 2006 or newer bike, the Burley kit would still make the clutch pull easier, regardless of ramp angle, where the 3 balls ride.
I'm not absolutely sure if the HD ezpull that comes in the 2006+ models has changed their interior leverage angle, or only the ramps and pressure plate....
I have a new stock pre-2006 actuator I can take a pic of with a ruler if that helps you in determining if the newer one is changed or not.

Got it figured out today.... After speaking with the tech that installed it and getting the "instructions back".... I backed off the 6 nuts on the pressure plate. That helped alot. It appears that the tech had it set for more torque than needed. It's a little better but still heavy. It has no drag and I can find nuetral alot easier. Thanks for your help.
