AC and download ?

Ok, i know when you replace your stock AC with a new High flow AC (a SE heavy breather) you need to get a download, remap, tuner, etc. My question is how quick do you need to do this? Can i put this on and then ride to the HD to get the download done? or will this hurt the bike? Now my HD is 70+ miles away.

2007-up bikes have O2 sensors. That will adjust to some degree. 2010-2013 models better than earlier.

The best it will provide is the same lean setting.

What I'd do is run it, and see if there's any drivability issues. Check your plug color and listen for pinging.

Is it going to damage the bike and cause issues? No.

Is it going to add to heat? Yes.

Question

I have a question to which i have not had a defining answer yet. i did stage one at sturgis at the V&H trailer, power headers, AC mod and fuel pack. it seems to run okay, but a friend had pipes and SE breather out on at a dealer and they did a down load and his seems to pull harder than mine. both are 2012 streetglides 103CID.
MY question is this...will it make a big difference if i take the fuel pack off and have dealer do download, & what exactly is the download and what does it do? would it be better to go with a power commander?

I am not looking for a drag bike but some more torque and hp is always good. BTW my friend gets about 4 miles per gallon better than i do as well.

Hopefully some dyno techs will chime in with some specifics to help my decision?
thanks in advance...
Richard

My opinion is to get the bike dynoed to maximize power, the download in itself doesn't do much.
