On the fence between power commander and s.e. super tuner
Since I'm on a role with my questions and am excited about all the answers that I'm getting... I think I have one more question left for the winter project...
My hd dealer friend told me not to go with power commander because with age he has seen problems with them loosing their download? Ever heard of that? I normally only buy all s.e. parts, this is the first build that I am not... so I have been looking at all options this time... my one and only problem with the s.e. super tuner is I've bought 2 of them before and obviously they can't go from bike to bike...I'm leaning towards the s.e. but really wanted to see if you all heard about the power commander loosing download?that seams odd to me!

Know absolutely nothing about a Power Commander or similar devices, but did hear the same stories and not all from dealer folks and I went w/ the SERT. As you say, it is for that bike and that bike alone but that's not a problem for me. Just me but since I own/ride a HD tend to stick with whatever they have to offer. From what I hear from time to time I must be lucky for I do have a very good dealer only about 1 mile from house and any non Harley items is not going to get their attention, but again that is just me.

I'm using a Power Vision from Fuelmoto and love it.
Like the SE tuner it actually flashes to the ECU so you don't have to leave it on the bike, but if you do you can use the screen for gauges of several sorts and with Fuelmoto backing it there's always tuning help without having to rely on some lump head dyno tuner. Just have it take some logs and email them to Jamie and he'll hook you up.
Also they always send a base map set up around your components.
It does "marry" to the bike, but Dynojet let's you buy a second authorization, so you can use it on 2 bikes. Oh, and it can be used for the gauge functions on any bike you plug it into, just not tuning.

Keep in mind what I know about EFI you could put in your eye and ya wouldn't blink. That said, I've got a PCV in my bike. Had a well known indy install it that knows Harley and specializes in racing. I'm thinking they wouldn't put something like that in a bike if they knew it was gonna come back to em. Installed sometime this June or July, no issues.

I've had a PC III, had no problems. I now have a PC-V, and again no problems. I added the Auto tuner to it and like it as well. I would not have a problem purchasing again. I have some friends that have the Power Vision and they like it too. I do like the benefit of removing the power vision. It can be challenging to fit the piggy back modules on some bikes, like mine. It would not be an issue if I did not have ABS.

None of them are bullet-proof.
SERT, PCIII, TTS, Direct Link, DTT.
For the most part, all work well, and we suggest when we send our kits/engines, to contact your local reputable tuning center, and inquire as to what he likes to use, that way you'll recieve the best tune he has to offer.

This is how I went after a lot of research.
The Vision also has the capability to self adjust with an optional kit.
When you sell the bike you keep the Vision and buy a new authorization for $200.
Its a reflash not a piggyback like lots of other "solutions".
I paid a little over ebay pricing to get Fuel Moto's expertise and downline support.
FWIW at $50 more you get their air cleaner kit in a package. Badass.
