V and H straight-shots

Hello new guy here, just went out for a ride with a buddy and I could'nt even hear my bike over his he's got a 100 anniversary super glide and it's got stock V and H pipes on it, I don't have alot of cash to work with does anyone have an opinion on the straight shots for my fatboy 09' and if i do install do i have to get the motor re calibrated for the slip-ons? I was thinking of getting the fuel pak along with the slips, would you say that w/that it'll re calibrate on it's own? Im looking for a little more grumble out of the bike any advice would greatly be appreicated. tyia

Richie... You will not need to place a Fuel Pak or tinker with the FI if you only place the V&H slip-ons and don't modify the air intake. The FI typically accomodates this very well. You will lose a few lbs, gain a few ponies, and have a nice exhaust note. Won't cost a lot either. That said, no need to emulate what appears to be a loud exhaust from your riding friend. Loud does not mean great performance, and it doesn't mean good sounding.

Yeah what he said I run the V&H straight -slipons and love them. They are a alot louder than them stockers you can tone them down with a set of quiet baffles, which I don't understand cause u were trying to make it loud in the first place.

Cool Just bought & installed V&H Straight Shot Slip Ons...Great!!!

I want all of you who posted replies to Richie M's posted question on 3/24/09 about his interest in buying the V&H Straight Shot Slip Ons, that your reply comments are apprecitiated...

Because of your comments, I just bought and installed them on my 06 Dyna Wide Glide and they are "perrrrfect" with the standard baffles. I almost also bought the quiet baffles, but since I was changing out Screaming Eagles, I thought I'd give the standards a try first. They are louder than the Eagles, but not too much and they have a much deeper rumble at idle. With a K&N air filter, my ride has a quicker "SNAP" and noticable improved "jump" on the throdle twist with no popping upon decelleration, even though I did not buy the FuelPak, as said was not necessary with standard air intake. I wanted to get my experience on this site in case someone else is trying to make a decision about them. I bought mine from Dennis Kirk for $223 with free UPS ground shipping....great price to get a great sound & a little added performance too! Marsh
