Back in the early to mid 1980's there use to be a rally held there at Mt Airy called "Run to the Hog". I bet the hog rally will be held at the same location. That "Run to the Hog" rally was just big enough that it was fun. Just park and camp and everything was right there and there wasn't a thousands of people and it was just a good time. I got a feeling that it was discontinued after the year I went because on that years event, some non riding locals had paid the 10$ admission price and came in and caused big trouble. From what I saw and I was right all up in it...the non riding locals came, got drunk, thought that the GF's of the riders who were dancing topless so strangers could grab their breasts. They were told nicely 2-3 time to cease and decist but kept doing it and well you can guess the rest of the story. I intervened on one possible stabbing and prevented it but ass whoopings ruled that night. It was not held after that year. Too bad because it was a great quaint rally and and outstanding location. Hope the Hog rally goes without a hitch.
