I'm in depending on time and location. I think that whoever is heading this thing up will just have to plan a date and place, without trying to satisfy everyone. Shoot from the hip and those who can make it will be sure rag the hell out of the ones who didn't!

I think you'll find that anyone here who has been to one of these is more than eager to return and do it again. My schedule has me hemed in until the last week in May when we get rid of students for the year, but I am good to go anytime thereafter until near the end of July. Hoping to work whatever meet we decide upon around my annaul summer trip (3 weeks out west this time), but if that doesn't work out, I still intend to be there.

I just re-read my post and realized that I may have come across a little abrasive. This was not at all my intentions!! I was just speaking from a recent experience, trying to organize a "Louisiana Area Ride" for Max's wife Jeannie.
Point being, that it's probably going to be tough for members to commit to a date for a 1st rally. #1 Some people have to schedule their vaccation a year in advance. With that, some people may have it already scheduled. #2 No one will admit to this one but, there are a great deal of people who would rather not risk their time off in the event that the rally would be a bust. It would be much easier for these types to wait until the next one, so that they can get the full scoop of how things went down for the 1st one. (MO)

I, for one, didn't take it as abrasive at all. Ideally all members would have a chance to attend if they wanted to but that's just not going to happen. All we can do is try to pick a location where most of the people can get to at a time that most people can make it. You're absolutely correct in that we simply cannot please all the people. I think Kile was just trying to get a feel for how many people would be interested at all. Based on the count either we will try to have one or not. If it looks like we'll try to have one then I'd expect a couple of more polls to pick a date and location. That's about the best we can do.

CA...you definitely weren't abrasive. As for worrying about a gathering being a bust, as long as there's good riding to be had with good people, it's hard for a bust to occur. If the weather fails to cooperate, there's always the indoors with same good people. The point is, I have been to 2 of these and both turned out great. Most of the people at the first made it to the second and encouraged friends to attend. If a place can be found where there's plenty of good roads and scenery, I doubt many people will go away disappointed.
