Agreed...except, I don't use anything other than the steel wool. My tuner used the 000 to clean the exhaust pipe outlet lips of my V&H HO's. I thought he was crazy at 1st till he actually showed me. My jaw dropped. Steel wool and chrome. I immediately went to Home Depot and got both 000 and 0000 (just to be safe). I now use it religiously on all of my chrome. Not on painted surfaces though. Took some elbow grease to get the burnt rubber off that exhaust header.

I use Turtle wax bug and tar remover,Spray then use a nickle to scrape off the rubber then wipe clean,it comes off very easy

I can say that I have used 0000 steel wool on my chrome rims with great results,,,, have not used them on my pipes but I would

Agreed - just use a penny on warm pipes - no need for anything else. Polish afterwards with whatever you normally use.

the penny worked for me many times. i'd lost money because i'd bet against it, i seen it work with my own 2 eyes. IT WORKS!

Old Penny, new penny does not matter. Do not use any silver coinage. Copper and Chrome match metalurgically (is that a word)? In other words it is not a dissimilar metal. You can use the penny on cold pipes. They do not have to be warm.
