Machining slots into solid wheels
My V-Rod was badly subject to wind buffetting with solid wheels.
I rather liked the original wheels look, don't much prefer aftermarket wheels, especially for the prices!
Best mod I ever did, since one of my wheels was bent anyway, and I didn't want to be down waiting,
I bought a second set of as-new stock solid wheels on ebay for $300 and had them machined
by Gorby's Machine for about $300. $600 total for the pair of custom wheels.
Nicest pair of wheels I could want for about 1/2 the cost of 1 aftermarket wheel.
TOTALLY eliminated the wind buffetting. Just exactly the look I wanted.
Perfect solution, perfect work by Gorby's, perfect cost. Very happy camper.
