Hey Mike,

All three compartments run well on Amsoil 20/50.

I have heard it suggested, and I intend myself to switch over to one of the Amsoil gear lubes in the tranny, I think the lighter one is 70/90, I heard it makes neutral easier to find, and seems to work smoother. Definitely using Amsoil 20W/50 in the engine, and since I see the primary as a lower stress oil usage, that's how I'm going to slowly use up a few quarts of Syn3 I don't want in the engine anymore. With oil of that quality, I'm following 5000 mile change intervals. If I felt compelled to change oil every 2000 or 3000 miles I wouldn't be using $10 oil.

Sorce or oil

I bought Mobil synthetic Motorcycle 20-50 oil @ WalMart .
The label said for crank case, tranny, and primary.

Just had the 1000 mile checkup and fluid change. They put Screaming Eagle Synthetic in all 3 holes. Shifted like I was in mud and half the time the shift from first to second was a shift from first to neutral! Not good. Just drained the"oil" out and put Spectro Platinum SAE 75w140 in. Made for 6 speeds (it says Sportsters and Big Twin). Shifting is easier, quieter, and I don't have the clutch lag anymore. I'm going to try their 20/50 after another 3000. To whoever suggested this product (I really don't remember) thanks for the sage advice!

Mike, I run 20W-50 in my motor, and 75W-90 in my primary and transmission...I use Lucas synthetic with their stabilizer additive...makes everything run smoother and quieter...
