Big Easy Oil-less Deep Fryer

Can't pack this on a bike, but if any support vehicle goes along, this would be handy on an outing, I'm using it a lot at home.

Has a basket sized for a turkey, It cooked a 13 3/4 lb turkey in about 1 hr 40 min.

To roast a chicken I use a beer-can chicken rack to hold a chicken centered and vertical, but it's a big cooker for one measly single chicken, so I decided to double up. 2 chickens were just a bit over cooked in 65 min. If you were organized, it could cook 4 chickens in 2 hours.

Handles are cool enough to move it when it's hot, 10 min after turning it off you could put it in the trunk or van. Light. Propane clean. Not even any spatter, except for the drip pan underneath it needs no cleanup at all.

Continuing testing....
to be as multi-purpose and handy as it can be, the grill basket on the Big Easy Deep Fryer needs some wire racks for layering smaller stuff, I made some racks myself from the lids of a $5.99 grill basket I found at Lowes, the leftover baskets should have some use to grill loose stuff on a regular grill or smoker, onions, peppers, loose kebab-type pieces, maybe corn, shrimp ?

10 brats and 2 marinated chicken breasts were done in 22 min, I left them in a little longer to see if they'd scorch on the ends or outside, at 28 min they had to come out.

I only used 2 of my 3 racks, if you were cooking brats alone for a group, I think you could get the same even cooking on 4 layers of 4, 16 brats every 25 min, maybe 20, with 5 on a rack, with zero attending.

One of the entertaining aspects of ADD, almost everything is interesting,
...sometimes all at once.

Haven't posted an update on my favorite outdoor cooker lately,
some of you might remember I found this Oil-less Deep Turkey Fryer very slick
and interesting, HOWEVER, I complained that the manufacturer really needed
to greatly increase it's usefulness beyond the occasional turkey by copying
my idea and put some shelves in the big basket that was the only meat
holding apparatus that they originally included with the cooker.

They must have been listening.
I have some shelves and rib hooks ordered.
Shelves were $9 ea. directly from CharBroil $18 at Home Depot (DUH!) Rib hooks were $4

BTW the cooker was $125 at Lowes. Seen 'em on Ebay for $99 plus shipping.

Last weekend's zero attention chicken, no turning,

I mostly like to just read but i got to comment here. I saw one of these things in a campground last thanksgiving and sampled the turkey out of it and it was fantastic. went to lowes the next week and bought one. My favorite thing to cook in it is a boston butt. depending on size of butt its about 4 hours and the best butt ive ever tasted. If it could only do hamburgers it would be the perfect cooker.

I'm thinking use that thing in a canopy type tent when tailgating.....we (when needed) use a propane heater .....so with this thing, you could cook your meat and toast your buns all at once
