GoPro Hero 3

I decide the other day to ¨upgrade¨ from my Hero 2 camera. Bought the Hero 3 Silver edition as I figured that I could use my old remote on the new camera.
Also bought the touch screen back and the USB charger.

All I can say about GoPro products is that if you have any hope in hell of getting any customer service or help out of them, go somewhere else. Their customer service is:

I have been trying to update the camera software for about a week now.
When I go to their site and select upgrade, Internet Exploder shuts down! Every freaking time! Deleted and re-installed both the GoSlo software as well as all of the USB drivers on my computer. No numbers to call. Finally found on their site where you need to contact them via e-mail. Still no answer.

Ready to throw the POS in the garbage.

Save your money. Don´t buy the gopro crap.

I think it's your computer dude....

I have no problem updating any GoPro stuff, from their cameras (both Hero1 and 2), WiFi back, Remote....

USB drivers automatically installed.



Try the Hero3 black edition, and if it still don't work for ya, send it to me.

But the two works fine on the same computer

I was able to download the update for the GoPro Hero3 from GoPro's website for the Black version, even though I do not have a GoPro3 camera. I "borrowed" a GoPro 3 serial number to obtain the update files.

Contents of update:

HD3.03-firmware.bin
WF3.03-app.bin
update.cmd




If you wish, I can download the files for the silver version (just to make sure there are no differences) and send them to you.
Respond to the info needed in the PM if you want me to do this for you.

The problem right now is the computer will not recognize the unit.
So, even if i did have the correct software, I would not be able to install it.
Gonna try another computer.
It´s frustrating because my Hero 2 works fine. From the same computer!
