Gas Tanks

I have a 2009 FXD. I recently bought a gas tank off of a 07 FXDL DYNA it is only the shell of the tank with no dash or anything. So I am wondering what parts I can use off of my stock tank and what parts I need to buy so that I can put it on my bike? The reason i bought the tank is so i can have my speedo gauge on the tank in stead of the bars. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

You'll need to buy yourself a part book like this:

OR sit down at your local dealer and go through the schematic and figure out what you need.

I want to do the same thing for my 2005 FXDI. I never did like the placement or the look of the speedo on the bike when I bought it. I thought looking at it enough times, I'd like it.
From reading forum postings, I found the two viable options, replace tank or replace speedo with the one from Diamond Digital.
