Any good camera mounts

Has anyone used a good camera mount on there ride? I am in the market for a motorcycle camera mount, either mounting on the handle bars or securing on the faring?

Which ones not to use?

Thanks in advance.

I'd like to know this too. The best results I've seen are guys that just stick a small digital camera in their full face helmet (like 13mordeth on youtube).

I bought a cat leash from Walmart, put it on my Olympus 710 digital..I wear the leash around my neck giving me plenty of room to shoot pics on the roll or my wife can grab it and shoot also...It's pretty easy to make one handed action shots...or self portaits..LOL...

Leigh... You have several options.

For a bar mount check out the options here... http://www.cyclegadgets.com/Products/?cat=MOUNT If go this route make sure you get a mounting arm long enough for a mounted camera to appear over your fairing top.

The GoPro camera is offering a lot of appeal to many. For less than $200 one gets a cam and all kinds of mounting options in the kit, including a stable suction mount for a fairing... http://www.goprocamera.com/index.php?area=2&productid=5

You don't mention if you want to use an existing camera. If you go the fairing mount option, the cam needs to be very light.

Then there are helmet cam options. HTH.

That GoPro camera looks very cool! I think I just killed a couple hours watching videos made with that camera! Seems like with the videos I have watched, it also has good wind noise rejection...

I use an old ID badge lanyard and just throw it around my neck. Camera rests on my belly most of the time so it's well padded and protected.

You should be fine. Digital cameras in movie mode are beginning to deliver excellent video capability. Key is 30 frames/second at 640x480 and above res. Memory cards are cheap nowadays. Keep us posted!

Here's a Canadian web site of a guy who does virtual riding television. The site is free and he's easy to PM for any info. I have PM'd him many times and he's always willing to help a fellow biker. BTW his videos are truly awesome and his camera mount is something to behold.
