Coastal Maine

Friend and I rode from Bangor to Calais along Rt 1 in Maine two weekends ago. Great ride. Sun and 70 degree ocean air. Rt 9 on the way home is a great ride. Well maintained, dual lanes, and mountain views. Fantastic ride.

Was there on that route exactly, last August 2008. Was headed towards St J,NB to catch the ferry to Digby and on to Western Shore,NS. The trip there was great and as you said awsome scenery. However coming home a blew a stator in st stephens on the canadian side of the border about 8 cars from the border booths and as you know,Calais,ME is in the middle of NFW. Nearest USA dealer was back in Bangor...100 miles south. It was a happy ending and I hope your trip was as well.

Sounds like a good ride.
