The Alps during European Bike Week held in Faaker See, Austria
I'm American on an expat assignment in Germany so I brought my Street Bob along for the experience. Well, since the job sucks, I'm very grateful to have had my bike here. Sent it home a few days ago but got to tour the Austrian, Northern Italian, and Slovenian Alps before it went back to straight roads and potholes in Chicago.
I don't have much to report other than it kicked @$$! The twisties were like no other. The Tail of the Dragon? For amateurs, especially given the cops all over it. American: lLand of the free? Apparently not... in the Alps, there were responsible riders from old Honda commuter bikes to Ducati super bikes zipping by like professionals. Not one cop or whiny neighbor to shut down you experiencing your own life your own way. This is where it's at! I'm sure there are cops there from time to time pulling idiots over, but... not like in the U.S. where they pull you over thinking they know better than you, thinking you are not aware of the risks you take so they must decide for you that you aren't allowed to take that risk.
Here's a few photos I grabbed. I'm not a picture person... had to stop to take pictures and that sucked. But here's a few...
