Manitoulin Island Ontario
I took a weekend trip from my home in London Ontario, rode up to Owen sound Friday night after work, there are some good backroads, pm me and I can forward the route to you. I stayed in Owen sound Friday night, rode to tobermory to catch the early Ferry, it got me to the Island around 8:00 or so. I rode the island all day, think I went around it about three times. What a beautiful place to ride! the roads alternate beautiful, elevated views with long sweeping curves, I couldnt get the stupid grin off my face for most of the day. Make sure you get some Farquars ice cream while you are there. I hopped the last ferry off the island, rode back into Owen sound again, stayed in the same hotel. (I didnt check out, left most of my gear in the room to make for a nice light ride on Saturday) I hit up the Owen sound night life, not bad for a smaller city, and the people are really nice there. Got up Sunday morning, had a leisurely breakfast, and headed back south. All in all a great little inexpensive weekend trip, which included some beautiful riding! Came home feeling like I had taken a week off work, but come thursday afternoon the boss still had a paycheck waiting for me. Anyone in SW Ontario should consider a ride to Manitoulin if you've never been.

'tis a beautiful place to ride, very popular with the local riders around here.
How were the fall colours? A group of us are lookin' for a place to take a colour run.

I can't speak of the colours Glyde, I took the trip in July, I'm just new around here, and wanted to throw my hat in the ring. I am thinking about taking a weekend soon, and doing the trip again, maybe riding up through Espanola, and Sudbury on the way out this time, before heading back south. I'll let you know how it looks if I do the ride.
