Toys For Tots - McHenry IL 2009-11-22

Well, I've gone on my first organized ride on Sunday; Toys for Tots in McHenry, IL. Last year they had about 300 bikes, this year one person stopped counting after reaching a 1000 bikes. We had temps in the upper 50's or even 60 and it was huge. I had a great time and was impressed with how well the local constabulary handled the huge turn out. They reorganized the route in some places, on the fly to get everyone where they needed to be.

It was great fun and I hope to go on many more in the future.

Out in Front of Dealership

and along side

In Back

And into the field behind

And then partial lineup at parade site

Another First Timer !

My first Toys For Tots ride too and wow, was I ever impressed.. Never realized that so many bikers would turn out for an event like that.. Have heard of the big city rides but here out in the country, (McHenry) this was unbelievable. Not sure I want to ride in any snow but am looking forward to another ride soon... I hope....( I feel special too that I am in one of the pictures here..)

Looks great. Too bad I didn't know about it as I was out riding just for fun. Would have been a great trip up there to join in the fun.

Yep, at this time of year the windshields are a must.
