Key West, Florida

This past April me and my wife rode from Goldsboro,NC to Key West,FL. 2000 miles round trip. We took our time going down, stopping in Jackonsonville, Fla,Stuart, Juno,Riveriera Beach, Miami amd finally Key West. Staying in Key West 4 days. On the way home we drove 500 miles each day and averaged 70MPH. And that was in the sidecar bike too. Key West was a blast. It was a little hot in the daytime but perfect in the evening. I'm not beach person so I chilled in the hotel from 10-2 while my wife hit the beach. Conch fru=itters were delicious too. Never had them before.

Its been a good year. Last April 2008 rode to Ashville,NC/WTT, August 2008 to Oak Island, Nova Scotia, December 2008 the Outer Banks/Ocracoke Island and then this April to Key West. I got tons of pictures I won't bore you with them.

I hope to either ride to Alaska next June or at least to the West coast. I do eventually want to ride to Alaska.

Hey BAD did you use the sidecar for luggage or the wife? If the latter was she willing to do more mileage in the sidecar than on the bike? Her thoughts?

Struggling with mileage issues. 3:30 pm and its time to find a hotel or Else!! 3-400 miles a day tops

She was in the sidecar and I needed her to be there too. For me anyways its an interactive ride and like a marriage it takes 2 to make it happen. She needed to lean and throw her weight to the right on every curve or surface change in the road. And with all the (*&%^ construction it was a lot). We only did 500 miles a day as we over stayed by a day and had to make up the time on the road. It wasn't bad really. The roads in the south are the best comnpared to in the North East anyways. Traffic but southern folks are polite cmnpared to the MF'ers in the North East. From Springfield, Massachusetts to south of DC its heinous.

Are you in a SC rig? If so got a picture?

No but 500MPD sounds good. I dont mind mileage but the wife has "restrictions". Thinkin if a sidecar is more "luxuirous" she might hang for daily runs at least into sunset.

The S/C allows my wife to stretch out, sort of like a rolling recliner. The seats bottom and back support are cushy cushy. She can't be 100% total dead weight though. She needs to lean in the corners...both left and right. She can sleep on the straight aways,eh,lol.

Heres a visual
