Americade 2009 was awesome this year

Perfect weather, Saturday was the most amazing day with all the festivities, HD boat rides, Mountain BBQ, show riders.

Meeting great people, new friends, lots of laughs, ... The Americade folks do a great job pulling this all together. And the NY cops were fine, if you didn't screw up, they left you alone.

Sunday morning leaving, heading south, all I saw in my mirrors was bike headlights and dark storm clouds coming in behind us, ahead, clear sky. What a way to top off a great week!

Ya, the best motorcycle rally......

I heard a couple horror stories about the cops impounding bikes and spraying chemical stripper on paint to check them #s
Glad you had a good time.

Good to hear you had a great time. If it weren't for my BRP trip I would have been at Americade and Laconia too.

Ya, the cops did get in some peoples faces

from the ones I saw, it was well deserved. crotch rockets mostly. I saw one cop about 2 inches from one kids face. Something tells me he wasn't greeting him to Americade! When you try to ride a wheely in a crowd of people, well, nothing good can come from that. Just a verbal warning though. Real verbal....

Thats how it started but there are more Harley's than Hondas now.

Some of those Gold Wings are pretty sweet all done up to the nines. Not that I would own one but there cool to check out.

The Honda's were something to see...but

There is nothing like a Harley. Out of all the bikes there, there was no other model that stood out as being unique to each rider as the Harley models. Nothing says 'America' more than a Harley.

I demo'd the Spyder, you know, the three wheeler, with two on the front. Its a 'different' ride. You don't feel like you are on a bike though. There are so many sensors on it and automatic stabilizers, that when you get into a corner and there are a couple of bumps, it seems like it takes over and starts compensating. You really feel like you are not in control. And, you sit on it more like a cafe bike than a Harley. I wasn't impressed. They made everyone take a breathalyzer. Smart move.
