Smoky Mountains anyone?

Since reading about this area in my HOG magazine (july/aug 07) I have been hoping to make it over to Tennessee to make the trek myself. Part of the hold up has been my seat problem. I don't think my ass can handle 8 hours in my current seat just to GET to the area I want to ride.

The other part is my boyfriend's work schedule. So right now he's furloughed and we are trying to squeeze this trip into our busy summer schedule before he gets recalled to full time work.

Anyway there seems to be a lot to see but I'm thinking we should focus on Deal's Gap and Cherohala skyway.

We need a day to get there and a day to get home so that limits us to how much we can see and I want to make the most of this first trip.

Mi and I guy I work with were talking about taking a 3-4 day trip down there before the end of summer. It's time to get out of Illinois for a few.

I'm going to Helen Ga. (north Ga. Mtns.) on August 27 for Ga. HOG rally. Deals gap (Dragon Tail) is only 80 miles north of Helen Ga. My friends and I will ride the Mtn. in Ga.,Tenn and NC.

Was through there April of 2008. Maggie Valley, Wheels Through Time ( I don't think its there anymore I don't know. One minute Dale is moving to Arizona the next he is not. Dale and his museum are a harley riders must see. Dale took my sidecar rig for a ride and rode circles with the sidecar up in the air) and all the surriunding area. I wished I lived there. It is a pretty spectacular area in general. Took in the Biltmore Estate tour. That place is amazing. Huge and technologically advanced for that time. We stayed in the area for about 4 days. Ashville,NC is a relaxing lots to see and do community.

The wife and I were up there in July. Did the Dragon and some other rides. Were going back in October to do it again and maybe stay a little longer. Great rides up there. Beautiful area!
