Alaska in 26 days
After bugging you fine people last winter and spring I think I owe you a little trip report. And I do thank all of you for the advice!
I left Quincy,Il the 1st of July, went to Winnipeg, across to Dawson Creek, then up the Alcan to Fairbanks, Anchorage and then started south. Went to Tok again, then south on the Alcan again to Edmonton, south to Conrad, MT and then SD, IA and on home. I was gone 26 days and what a trip for a old man!
While in Fairbanks and Anchorage I played tourist and went on a day trip in a van up the Dalton Hwy. and flew back, from Talkeetna I flew around Denali and went on a half day cruise out of Whitter to see glaciers fall apart. You really need to ride that tunnel between the railroad tracts if you want a thrill! Or not!!
I seen Flat land
Mile 0
Buffalo, bear, and a lot of other animals
long metal grate bridges
Small towns, wild roads
Stop signs and big trucks and waste of money
Sorry to be so long winded but am still coming down.
I have put all the 800+ pictures on
Pictures by billlari - Photobucket
The pix's are in folders called
09North to Alaska, 09_South_AK, 7-13-going-to-Denali, 7_11Artic Circle & 7_14_Glacier_cruse
