Super shout out to
She gave us the best locations to hit. We really wanted to meet up but our fast-paced schedule didn't give in. Thanks a million!!!!
Another shout out to Cycle Vision Rentals San Diego's Premier Motorcycle Rental
They set me up on a 2016 Street Glide with only 8k miles on the clock. Red ain't my color, but it grew on me. The guys are fantastic, friendly, down to earth. No hidden fees. $150/day (24 hours). I rented on Saturday morning at 9:00, was on the road by 9:20. Brought the bike back on Sunday at 2:15 with 45 min. to closing. 250 miles per day, I had it 2, so 500 was allowed. I used up 370.
Made a giant circle. From San Diego, we went CCW, first to Palomar Mountain, South Grade. Back down the South Grade ( I heard the east Grade is pretty amazing too). Tons of switchbacks and hairpins. If you ain't scraping, you ain't riding. Wife was a little nervous back there.
Off the mountain, hit I-15 for a while until we got back on the mountains to Hell's Kitchen. Great tasting bacon cheeseburger. Larger than it first appeared.
Road out to Hollywood. LA traffic SUCKS. Lane split for the first time. Thank God for it. I would still be in traffic today without it. It was that insane.
After Hollywood, I realized I needed clear glasses without the daylight. Quick stop into Home Depot and grabbed some clear lenses. Off to Laguna Beach, where we got a hotel for the night.
The next morning we kicked around until the temp got above 60, about 10:00. Off to the beach. walked around, Had a fantastic lunch of shrimp, fish and scallop skewer at The Greeter's Corner. That place rocks. The raspberry cheesecake was killer.
Road the Pacific Coast Highway down as far as possible, than jumped on the 5 for the last 40 miles.
Amazing scenery, delicious food and my wife was the best passenger in the world.
