Be Safe

Started out going nowhere this morning. Most times I find it's the best place to head to. Ran into a coulpe Buds at a stop light, ended up on 80 mile fast scoot up the north highway and back through some back roads. With the sun shinnin' and lunch along the way, was a neer perfect day. As we got back to town, I take the first right and head home, my Bro heads east. Two miles later a 72 year old lady makes a left(from three lanes over) and t-bones my Bro. Four hours later he is released from the hospital, a little road rash, and lots bumps but walked out of the hospital on his own.

If the link works, ya can see his sled.

It's the fifth bike accident in town in a week, one a fatal.

Even tho it's probably tempoary, it sure has slowed me down while city sleddin'.

Hug your wife and childeren often, and please be safe.
They are out to get ya.

Sorry to hear about your buddy. Two fatal accidents in my town in the last 3 days. Both motorcyclists killed by car drivers not paying enough attention at junctions.

Stay safe folks, they're trying to kill us off!

The failure of motorists to detect and recognize motorcycles in traffic is the predominating cause of motorcycle accidents. The driver of the other vehicle involved in collision with the motorcycle did not see the motorcycle before the collision, or did not see the motorcycle until too late to avoid the collision.

One more case IMHO for every rider to consider spending
some money and focus on CONSPICUITY mods.

Use a Big bright headlight, on high ALL THE TIME in daylight,

They wouldn't look right on my bikes but twin 4" driving lights
that give a 3 wide headlight sure get my notice.

I'm even this extreme about it, $3 worth 3M DIAMOND GRADE reflective tape,
right handy as a sun shade for my eyes, and BRIGHT!

Besides killer LED tail and brake lights, I get still more WTF? factor from some
drowsy doofus coming up behing me..

Still selling the conspicuity idea, anything to make the bike stand out visually

I don't buy that loud pipes save lives, at least not in this kind of accident,
but I do believe extra effort on visual effect will.

And Harley-Davidson stock 5" headlights suck BIG TIME!

Just got home from my buddys place. Yesterday was hell, but is feeling and looking much better today. Lucky he got his leg out of the way when the car hit him. He did a tumble over his apes and landed on his ass. Bruised tail bone, some minor road rash and sore from eyeball to arsehole. Thankfully he will get back to normal.

Thanks for the concern every one.

I'm glad to hear your buddy is going to be alright. Could have been much worse. We had a 20 year old in my community lost his life last week on his motorcycle. Although, I think it was due to excessive speed on his part. It's still such a tragedy.
