new bars
Well some of you know I have a fatboy, and a while back ago, I put a set of beach bars on it, not really my thing, but I had em, was bored, you know......
anyhow I also have a pair of 20 inch (38 inch wide) apes in the shop, so I finally got around to switching them. I had to cut, solder, heat shrink, and wrap the wiring, added 22 inches to the handlebar wiring. ran the wiring inside the new bars. had to upgrade to 47 inch throttle and idle cables, got them done, now am waiting....tomorrow morning, I need to go pick up my 74 inch clutch cable. get that thing on, mount the exhaust back on the bike, and I should be ready to save on speed stick. Let me tell ya, those bars look hot on my scooter. I still have to bleed the front brake line, a royal PIA, but I have a plan for that, syphen hose aound the bleeder on the caliper, hooked to an air compressor, start sucking the fluid down, just have to have someone else handy to keep feeding fluid into the master cylender.
I have one question to the gurus though..... my riser bushing feel like they have a lot of movement. I have the riser bolts as tight as they will go........I have never noticed this much flex in the bushings b4, is this just because I have so much additional leverage now? I inspected them, they look fine, no dryrot, cracks, anything.
wadda ya think?

You could go to the harder polymer bushings and use a one piece top clamp .

I have a one piece top clamp, original one.....was thinking about the poly bushings last night, they would deff be firmer than the black rubber stock ones

I use a reverse bleeder. You pump fluid in to the bleeder nipple on the caliper. Since air wants to travel upwards anyway it makes getting all the air out easier. Just wrap the master cylinder with a rag to contain spills (since you're filling it up, not taking fluid out) and keep Momma's turkey baster handy to remove some fluid from the cylinder as it gets close to the top.
One man job. I use one of these.

Generally speaking, you don't die on motorcycles.
You die a few yards away from what's left of them.
Yes, I have had two bottles of wine. What the fukk is your problem

I don't care too much bout vibrations....if I wanted a vibration free bike, I'd a bought a kaw-a-sucky. I'm just using what I got for now, this winter chit will start getting changed.

Oh sure show off!!! makes my 16s I just did look so tiny. I noticed that I have movement as well. I think switching bushings later on but from what I hear its normal if you use the stock bushings.
