Risers vs Bars

Got an 09 Fatty and looking to bring the grips up higher. Considering changing the bars to those like on a Heritage since they are a little higher up than the stock Fatboy bars.

But, is changing the riser a better idea?

So, can anyone tell me the advantages or disadvantages of changing the risers or changing the bars to get the grips up higher?

That is what I thought. I like the height. Just feel right & looks right.

Thanks for the reply.

I just put ape hangers on mine. But, there are other bars called swing-backs, and then there are some that look like you can adjust them several different ways. Also, if you get Ape hangers you might want to be sure they have narling on the bars so you can adjust the angle. This was my recent experience. It's expensive to go back and fourth, better get it right the first time. Good luck. I don't know about changing the riser. My guess would be new cables any upward motion.

Was thinking about putting the HD Mini Ape bars on, the same as the Heritage. I would EXPECT narling on the bars, but, sounds like they may not as you mentioned. Thanks.

get the Wild 1 chubbys, they are so much better than the HD apes.

Got 12.5 on my 06 Fatty and had to change all the cables to +6
