RPM to high

My rpm is taching 3000@ 60mph. Can I just change rear belt sproket or do I need to change front as a set? would it be cheaper to go the chain and sproket route instead of belt drive?

rpm to high

Hi my 91 fxrs-sp softtail is revving 3000rpm @ 60 mph ,on long trips I feel it's to hard on the motor for extended periods. will changing rear belt sproket alone be enough to lower RPM?

depends on how much you want to lower it. but by going with a smaller rear pully, you will also lose power to ground performance

You may want to consider going with a 6 speed tranny, the gearing will make the difference in RPM'S.
