Stock seat is one piece, just looks like it in pix. Pax grab strap is attached there. Two acorn nuts attach rear of seat midway up sissy bar. Pop them off slide seat up and back. Has a tongue slips under rear of fuel tank Only issue I have is insuring it slips back under flange at gas tank. Have to slide it in and push down on front of seat at same time. A few well aimed 4 letter words are required some times. Most comfortable seat for the long ride. Marie has no issues with the rake or padding. Official photographer on rides.

For sure it's the most comfortable seat for long rides out there by far. The sissybar has no real back support. My son likes he backrest, my wife hates it!

I've got the detachable sissy bar/luggage rack on my '07 fxst and I don't think it leans back as far, but there isn't much padding on it and not a whole lot on the stock seat that mounts to the fender. I'm sure your fender probably has the holes for other seats, but that bad boy looks pretty cushy. It would be a drag to change all that and have her want the old one back on it. : )
