Smile Canadian Assembled Harley ?

My girlfriend just purchased a Fatboy with a VIN 4E**********We have since been told that this bike was assembled with a Canadian frame? What the heck? Is this bike a Harley Davidson ? I tried to put some crash bars on it and they were 1/2 inch off at the top hole. The tail light lens are also different. I REALLY need some crash bars! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Dave

It wasn't built IN Canada. It was built to GO TO Canada. US models are different than Canadian or Euro models. Harleys are made in York Pa or Milwaukee plants.

The crash bar is likely the wrong year or a bar for extended controls. Double check the crash bar part number and the year of your bike.

That's right. Even though it was built here in the good ol' US of A, it was destined for the Canadian market which means it had to comply with Canadian specifications. The bars you purchased were made to US specs. Remember, Canada uses the metric system .

HD is so independent and calls all the shots. I wonder why they don't just produce everything the same and say take it or leave it.
More than likely, and because of demand, the Canadians and Europeans will take it.
