Question about buying accessories online.

Hi all. When I log into HD's website and look at the accessories it gives me an option to add to cart. Then it asks me to locate a dealer. How does this work? Do I pay for the items online and then simply go to the dealer I chose and pick up the items. I have noticed that dealers have the HD items at their location but at a marked up price vs. the website. Not sure I get this??

Thanks.

Best deals I've found are at Surdyke HD. They regularly run specials, and generally discounts run around 20% off msrp. Surdyke.com

Also check out CyclePartsForLess.com.
They're competitive with Surdyke, and they also offer more free shipping...

Some parts on the HD's website can only be bought through the dealer and then other parts can be ordered online. I would check all the other websites previous mentioned. Also JP cycle has tons of parts. And there are lots of other places.

to answer your question, some dealers do sell online and when it asks you to locate a dealer it is telling you the closest dealers to you that do that. other dealers and some items are in store only.

You could do like I do. Call up the dealer and order the parts, pay with your card, then have them send it to your door via UPS or Fed-X. Think about it by the time you drive there you have spent more for the part if you include the gas than what you spend thru the dealer in the first place and you save the time. You could be working or riding your scoot. For me it's a 50mile run to the Harley Shop one way. That's a 80 minute drive.

Just thought you should know.
