Fatboy mufflers - CATS inside?
Does anyone know if there are CAT converters built inside the twin OEM fatboy mufflers, on late models - or any models?
I didn't think there was room inside the twin mufflers for them?
Thanks.

Fatboy Euro models have had them since the mid-1990's.
Fatboys and Other softails have had them since 2008 for Cali/Euro models.
All since 2010. They're small and in the mufflers. If you weighed the 2007 muffler VS 2010, the weight difference is noticable just picking them up. Touring has them in the headpipes.
I have a pre-2010 cat in a RK muffler at home. Compared to a regular RK muffler, I bet it's 4-5 lbs heavier.

My CVO 2010 Convertible 110 muffler photo of the cat.
They are on my '07 FXSTC.

CAT but where??
I was told that on my 2012 Fatboy the CAT is located in the headpipe & not the muffler. Is this true or false? Love to know, before I start changing pipes.

I believe that's correct. 2012 models (Touring) I believe all have them in the head pipes. Most guys cut them out, then reweld the headpipe back together.

No. Only 2008-up CA models.

All new Harley Mufflers now have CATS - I discovered
Removed the stock mufflers from my '13 Fatboy.....bought HD SE set. Local dealer said no CATS in them. WRONG! Showed the CATS to him at delivery, said he was mistaken. A little late. Anyway, they are now on the bike - CATS and all. Don't sound too bad. A couple of photos to show you the CATS in the Screamiin Eagles.
