the nioses a Sporty makes...
I love the description from another thread - like a couple of sewing machines on steroids. I notice a very rythmical clicking, expecially when passing over a bridge, kind of reminds me of putting a playing card in the bike spokes as a kid. I'll assume that one is pretty normal. My question is about the front brake, when I'm rolling the bike in and out of the garage, or very slow I notice that it sounds like the front brake is dragging. When going slow I also hear this, and a slight bit of pressur eon the handbrake makes it stop. Is this too just another benefit of having a Sportster?

That's what I was thinking, being paranoid of sounds does not go well with the Sportster....

That's cause your front brake IS dragging....but just a little. It's normal. It drags the same like that on your car too, but you don't notice it or hear it from inside. You would if you jacked it up and spun the tire.
If it didn't drag a little, the brake lever would have to push more fluid to get it to work, and then the lever would all but bottom out.
As long as the rotor's not warped, or the caliper is sticking, you're golden. With the front jacked up, you should be able to get anywhere from 1/2 to a full rotation, on an average spin by hand. Anything less might require disassembly, and cleaning of the piston where it goes into the caliper, or checking to see if the pads are gunked up where the holder touches them, and the tension clips....well......tensions them.

Brakes
Dave63 I assume the brake pads are free floating ,,so they can lay against the rotor at anytime,,and thats not a problem.

What about the rattle coming from the engine?
Is that always there?
I'm under 1000 miles on the Iron, but my RK didn't rattle like that.
