biker's friend -VS- lick's solo

Just looking for a comparison between the 2 from those who have either seen them both in person or (even better) those who have had both.

I know the BF would be bigger, and thus able to store more, but I also like the "it was made to go there" look of the solo bag. they're both similarly priced, so cost won't be much of a factor.

I'm not trying to haul a load of cargo... just looking for something to keep a few things as I'm going down the road- namely my wallet, phone, sunglasses (when I'm not using them), gas funnel, gloves, and anything I may pick up along the way.

Obviously I won't be picking up a refridgerator full of groceries, but I may end up at a store or something at some point.

thanks for any insight!!!

I can only comment on the Bikers Friend. I wouldn't trade
mine for any other bag out there. I have the medium which
is not much bigger then the small, and it holds quite a bit.
It would easily hold everything you mentioned, plus a jacket,
a few extra shirts and a lot of other "nick naks". It's easy to
install and remove, and makes an excellant back rest.
I posted a review of it on here not long ago, if you havn't seen
it yet. A "search" should reveal the post.
Regards Sonny

Can't comment on either of those, but both my wife and I have the garage leathers bags. Very high quality and look cool as well. I actually made a bracket so it doesn't attach to the swing arm anymore (straps rub paint off). Here are the pix...

Just ordered a BF today myself.
I need it to hold my hand tools (~25 lbs worth) so I can work from the bike, I ordered the large size... 13"X15". I plan on carrying some small parts and my jacket/rain gear in it too.

The practicality and waterproof factors were important to me, and I really like the "leather bedroll" look on the bike.

Having a serious backrest won't hurt either on some of the longer hauls...

diggin the "it was made to go here" look of the solo's, like I said... but I'm really leaning towards the BF for the reasons that Sonny and Monk said - good place to put a lot of stuff, especially a jacket for the cold weather about to hit.

Maybe eventually I'll get both so I have a choice depending on my mood and what I need.

thanks for the replies.
