Sportster Front Suspension mods??
Has anyone on here done an inverted fork swap on a Sportster? Looking for inverted, beefier and possible rake change. I saw STORZ Performance has some options. Anyone ever done this?

I want to rake 5 degrees with triple trees. The first one I found though is 750 smackeroos. Too much for my budget at the moment. It would make a good difference touring, cruising, or just making a better turn. Just my opinion.

In order to add inverted forks, the trees and fork legs will have to be replaced, as will calipers and most likely rotors.
The XR1200 Sportster has just this.
To add rake, trees can do that, however, to add rake AND inverted forks, is gonna be costly. Most inverted forks are 54mm, and HD's largest fork tube is 49mm. Being that the fork is inverted, the stanchion (shiney silver part) isn't going through the triple trees, rather the cartridge part is.
You'd be better off looking into getting an entire Buell front end, or look into putting a front end off a Suzuki GSXR, or any other front end with a 1" steering stem. Of course.....wheels will be another issue to address.

Will the stem/triples from an XR fit with a low or a custom? Are the frame's different from an 883 to a 1200?

883 - 1200 frames are the same. The difference is the engine displacement. The XR1200 has a different frame, however, the front forks should be a bolt-on.
I've sen the XR1200 front brakes and wasn't that impressed. Although they're Brembo, I believe they're low end, and have nothing to bring to the table when compared to Nissin or Tokico's 4 and 6 pot calipers, or their gripping power.
A GSXR swap might be a tad more involved, but I'd be looking at that if you were serious about performance.
Not to mention, I'm not sure how many internal parts are on the aftermarket field for the XR1200's forks, like there are for the GSXR, or even looking into swapping out the front off a CBR1000.

Agreed, the stability of them are known and they work really well at high speed as proven for years.. not to mention they would be a lot cheaper...
