(note: I'll post better pics tomorrow if the weather clears up a little bit. this was in my garage with my phone (the flash is what makes it all tinted red and pixelated)

What fuel management did you go with?

I'm sure that my fiancee and I would REALLY object to me getting a boyfriend. Her because we're engaged, and me cuz I'm not that way. ha ha ha funny.

BF = biker's friend. sheez.

@ Dave: I just went to Harley and got the download to my ECU. I'll probably get an aftermarket f/m at some point, tho.

The Stage I download is good. A F/M system is better, and obviously more tunable.

true enough, but the cost of purchase and the time tuning is just something I don't have at this very moment. Plus I'm not completely sure of what all is out there. I know the PC, but that's about it... and a eBay search shows prices nearly $300. The stage1 download is $150, which also includes a test ride to make sure things are as they should be.

You'll be good for now. If you plan on cams or anything else, then look into it. A lot of guys buy a programmer, and spend the money when a stageI or II download would have been cheaper and would have worked just as well. Performance changes like air filters and pipes are simple enough and a dealership with half a brain can add the becessary ECU adjustments to make the bike run great.

It's the dealers with less then half a brain, that irritate me.

I couldn't agree more.

Case in point- my old car dealer. There was a recall on the fuel pump and so it was replaced for free. I went in with 3/4 tank of gas, and left with 1/4 tank. I asked why I was missing 1/2 a tank of gas, and the service writer talked to the mechanic, who said (and I BS you not) that the design of the new fuel pump didn't have a little lip that went around the intake assembly and so the tank essentially holds a little more gas.

I didn't even bother trying to argue that they would have had to drain the gas to drop the tank in order to get to the sending unit, and just didn't feel like putting it back in.

I've heard that arguing with an idiot is pointless since they'll beat you with years of experience.
