Winterizing?
I've got two sporties that I'm going to store in my unheated storage building. I fog and change oil in my boat and mowers for the winter. Are there any special methods for winterizing my bikes other than the oil change and fogging the cylinders I should know about?
Thanks
Mueller

park on something such as a piece of carpet or cardboard. if you cover them, use a breathable cover, not plastic, wouldn't hurt to have a small fan on them from time to time. and place some dryer sheets around them and places such as on the seat, under the seat, etc... (I hear it keeps lil critters away)

A full tank o fuel w/ some stabil will also do the trick, make sure to put the stabil dose in for a full tank run it for a while to ensure it gets into the fuel system.Park it w/ a full to the brim tank to avoid moisture & rust in yer tank.don't ferget the battery tender..

It is always good to change your oil before storage. One of the things oil does is pull acids out of combustion. If you leave the old oil in over winter the acids will start to etch the bearing surfaces. That is the beginning of the end!

Ok, I don't winterize anything cause I drive or ride as much as I can, just put on more layers without compromising grip. Definitely change oil and fill tank as full as you can get it with the stabilizer. A small heater would be great to put out in the building as well.
