Switching Bars

Hello Everyone,

I have an 08 XL883 and want to swap out the bars for those on the XL883 Low. My question is if anyone has done this before (I'm sure someone on here has ).
Do i need new cables/wiring and or anything else that i cant think of?

What's the difference in the normal 883 bars and the low bars? I would think that as long as you are not raising your rise more than 4 inches or so, you should be fine.. just take everything off the old bars and put em on the new.

The low bars are more buckhorn style, higher and pulled back a bit. If you compare side by side you will see the difference.

I like these bars much better from a comfort standpoint. I'm not stretched out at all anymore. While i was at it, i put on some new grips, a bit thicker then the stock ones and a little chrome on the ends. So all in all im glad i did it.

when putting the cables on especially throttle make sure the cables are not too short or they will pull the throttle open when you turn the wheel . if they seem short dont route them inside the forks like that are now run them to the outside of the forks you should be good to go . hope this helps
