Need some help figuring out this bucking problem

get ready for a long read.....

this past june i bought my first harley, and my first motorcycle for that matter. 2009 sportster 1200 custom. dealer installed screaming eagle stage 1 air cleaner, screaming eagle slip-ons, and stage 1 tune. runs great, until the fuel tank gets low.

when leaving from a stop at medium throttle the engine gets to around 4k rpm and then power suddenly cuts out then abruptly resumes and pulls clean through the rest of 1st gear. initially it wont do it in 2nd gear.

as the tank gets lower and lower it starts doing it at a lower rpm, and then even less throttle is required to have it act up. and eventually it will do it in all gears. at this point its pretty much undriveable, yet it still starts and idles fine. i look inside the tank and theres still fuel. i fill up the tank and it drives like normal.

so i rode it until it started acting up again and immediately filled up the tank. it took 3.6 gallons. that means i have almost a full gallon left.

first dealer that looked at it said its the pump. replaced that. nothing. then they replaced the fuel filter. nothing. i took it to another dealer they said it was normal, put fuel in it and it went away. then after i got harley corporate involved they tried to say its cuz i have cycle shack slip-ons instead of the screaming eagles. now i have to pay 460 for what they called a "super tune". i installed the cycle shacks 3 weeks ago, problem existed well before that.

so has anyone experienced anything like this? im out of options. california's lemon law doesnt cover bikes so i need this thing fixed.

We don't bite... well, keep an eye on Dix.
There's junkyard dog somewhere in his genes...

But seriously caco, please go introduce yourself in the top forum, tell us a little about yourself, maybe give us a pic (we LIKE pix!!** ) of the 1200C.

Once you do that, you won't get these guys to shut up!

**See..? Here's mine:

MMM I'd wonder if your tanks vented right. then the pickup line might have a small hole. Course I'm guessin dont know how the XL EFI tanks are set up.
And havent heard about any pump problems like they had on TC's for awhile.
Curious to have you look at the air filter for any adnormality soaked in oil etc.

But I kinda dont think a "super tune" for 460 is the cheap answer.

Please do get by and post an intro in "New to Community"

If The bikes under warranty put the stock pipes back on and see if it still does it and if it does take it to another Harley dealer and have em fix it under warrenty. I aint the trouble shooter here but sounds like it could be a back presure problem maybe. Im asumein its fuel injected and you did not have it maped when you put the new pipes on. just my dumb azz 2 cents. Its late Im sure you ll get a lot better help then I offered from a lot more qualified personal then me.
One more thing, 3.7 gallons on a Sporty, you could be runnin down to reserve, Like I said tomorrowthe experts wake up.
